GUANGZHOU, China Aug 24 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Monday discussed bilateral and international issues and expressed their resolve to further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries. During the meeting which took place at White Swan Hotel, where President Zardari is staying, there was a complete unanimity of views on various regional, bilateral and international issues. The President said that friendship with China is the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy and the government and the people highly regard their relations, which have withstood the test of time. He said his fourth visit within a year is testimony to the importance that Pakistan attaches to its relations with China. The President thanked the foreign minister for China's cooperation in Pakistan's economic development. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said that his country holds Pakistan in great esteem and was proud that many Chinese companies were part of Pakistan's economic development. APP/Zaheer/Aamir
