Stan Jones (born January 13, 1943) is a Libertarian Party politician who has twice run unsuccessfully for the United States Senate in 2002 and 2006, and has run twice unsuccessfully for governor of Montana, in 2000 and 2004. The winner in 2000 was Republican Judy Martz, and in 2004 the winner was Democrat Brian Schweitzer. In 2002 the winner was Democrat Max Baucus. His loss in 2006 was his most significant, when he challenged incumbent Republican Conrad Burns and Democrat Jon Tester, and received 3 percent of the vote. This was well above the margin of victory that handed the seat to Tester and gave control of the Senate to the Democrats.
Stanley Paul Jones (born November 24, 1931 in Altoona, Pennsylvania) is a former American football guard and defensive tackle in the National Football League. He played for the Chicago Bears from 1954-1965 and the Washington Redskins in 1966. He attended the University of Maryland. Jones is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.
Stan Jones (October 23, 1926 - December 30, 1998) was an actor. He was sometimes credited as Stanley Jones. He has mostly done voice work in his career. His most high-profile work may have been as the narrator of the film Little Shop of Horrors. One of his few non-voice roles was as a teller in an episode of Beverly Hills 90210. He also voiced several characters in the Transformers TV series, as well as the Superman villain, Lex Luthor in several episodes of the Super Friends TV series.
Stan Jones (1914 - 1963) was an American songwriter. He was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona. His most famous song was probably (Ghost) Riders in the Sky, written while he worked for the National Park Service in Death Valley, California. Writing almost entirely in the genre of Western music, he penned songs for several Western movies including The Searchers and Rio Grande. He also acted in a small part in Rio Grande. Stan was married several times, and many children. His first wife was Kathryn Jones. They were married in 1939, and had one daughter in 1941, Nancy. They divorced in 1942.
