Mithun Chakraborty (Bangla: মিঠুন চক্রবর্তী, Hindi: मिथुन चक्रवर्ती) (born Gouranga Chakraborty June 16, 1950) is a National Film Award-winning Indian film actor as well as social activist. In his heyday, he had earned a huge fan following as a dancing star, and was one of the most popular and leading actors of India in the 80s. Altogether he has appeared in more than 200 Bollywood films as well as some Bengali and Bhojpuri films. He is the owner of chain hotels, known as Monarch Hotels.

(2005) Announced that he will be introducing his son, Mahakshaya (Mimo), as a Bollywood leading man in two movie projects.

Has six children, four sons and two daughters.
